As a matter of fact, many people enjoy doing this on a regular basis in order to give themselves a break from time to time from sitting at the computer. I find that if I do three sets of abdominal crunches on a daily basis, spread throughout the day, it gives me some of the best results.
A similar exercise that can be done is the bicycle crunch. This is similar to an abdominal crunch but you would bring one elbow forward and bring the opposing knee up to meet it. Continue to switch back and forth between sides of the body and do so for about 10 to 20 repetitions. Not only is this good for the abdominal muscles, it is also a form of aerobic exercise.
The plank is also something that can assist you in strengthening the abdominal muscles which can also burn some fat. In order to do the plank, you get up on your elbows and toes, keeping the entire line of your back as straight as possible. Stomach vacuums are also a good idea in order to shrink the waistline but this is not necessarily something that is going to burn a lot of fat. I figured that I would included in these exercises, however, just because many people can see results from doing them. You suck in your stomach can hold it for 60 seconds, releasing it for an additional 60 seconds. These exercises can be done anywhere at any time, and they are very effective at toning the stomach and shrinking the waistline in a natural in.
Finally, the most effective abdominal exercise that burns fat does not work out the abdominal’s at all. I’m talking about deadlifts, an exercise that works the larger muscles of the body, but does so in a way that it releases chemicals into the body which signal that it is time to grow muscle. These muscles also grow on your abdominal region, and if you do deadlifts properly, you’ll boost your metabolism and burn the fat off of your body very quickly. This is something that will be seen in your abdominal region as well.
